FLOWING WISHES .....scene 1

This story .....is purely fictional and has no resemblance to any person living or dead whatsoever........but yeah some parts of it are inspired...

so the scene is based in the late 1950's in the era of marilyn monroe.....audrey hepburn...when "mother india" was still to rock india....when the winds of "gone with the wind" were still blowing ...and when "cassablanca" had cast its spell
our hero lets call him "A" was born in a divided province of punjab on the Indian side.
His father was a rich punjabi farmer left poor by the atrocities of independence and land reforms. Now the initial years of our hero were not that bumpy or happening et al, but yeah his family's economic condition was gradually detoriating due to his father's new found solace in binge drinking.piles and heaps of glass bottles gathering dust in the room that used to be the grain cellar. "A" prayed day and night ..."please God some how turn these bottles into gold" . but even God was too much engrossed in his own GAME to pay heed to "A" 's prayers.
one day "A" took an empty bottle to the river Chenab and sat on the banks of it wondering how life would have been if they still had their land."A" wondered where the river was flowing , where does it terminate or does it flow to the end of the world to the other horizon where perhaps God lived. can the river take his wishes to the Gods ? ? "A" suddenly tore a piece of paper from his notebook and scribbled some thing on it then he put the paper in the bottle and recapped it. with a deep breath he flunged the empty bottle into the chenab...praying for its safe journey to the Gods......totally unaware of the fact that exactly at the same moment on the other side of the border.....another boy lets call him "B" was retrospecting his life on the banks of
Panjnad(chenab).
Going back a few hours in the life of "B". He just got thrown out of the quarry job he had joined that morning as he questioned the authority of the supervisor. With a few pennies in his pocket he left the place and headed for the river which was the only part of the world he knew was his own. No one to claim it.On the banks thinking how God could be so unjust to him, how the supervisor's son got to learn driving a Ford where as he was so deep down in shit. He thought of making an offering to God to appease him. So that he might take a ook at him for once.he threw his hard earned and only penny into the river praying "lord this was the only thing i was left with .....now u decide what i get"......unaware of the fact that a bottle with a message was on its way to him...

to be continued.................

prologue

Well this is not exactly my first blog .........but its definitely my first on "confused-cortex".
So all the hooplah surrounding rakhi has ended. All the brothers and sisters again back on their normal day to day routine . All the guys running away from the danger of being mobbed by sisters having a sigh of relief. Providing me a thought to feed on "do we really need a specific day to celebrate our relations". Seriously do we need days like "mother's day, father's day, valentine's day...even rakhi" to remind us that we do care about our loved ones? I mean just 1 day in a year to celebrate ur relationship with ur mum ,who nearly for the past 2 decades had been spending each and every passing moment concerning ur well being???Just 1 day for ur pa who must hav been planning each and every financial matter thinking of providing u a sound future. Just 1 day for ur beloved darling/sweetheart to make him/her realise that u do care. And definitely for sure u dont need a day to let ur sister know that u'll do whatever it takes to protect her.
But surely in this so called busy routine of ours....when we think more bout "Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Narayan Murthy" than our parents .........when even the cheapest STD rates in the world haven't been able to lure us to call our sis. even once a month.......and what to talk about romance people don't have time to go out and meet sm1 therefore office romances have been such an "in" thing , its surely justified in celebrating these days . Besides when we can have smthing as absurd as "no pants day" and "blame somebody else day" we can surely spare a day for our mother.father, sister and obviously ......spare a day for some saint named "VALENTINE"
